Sustaining resilience & supporting longevity can be a challenge in our modern world. The Breathing Tree believes integrating therapeutic practices like mindful movement & meditation into your routine will help restore & maintain health. They include holistic health arts like yoga, taichi qigong, & bagua zhang.
Bagua Zhang is a martial and healing art designed around rotational movement and circle walking. Its unique walking meditation practice was incorporated with fighting techniques and tactics. The twisted, dynamic and flowing movements offer the practitioner to healthfully move with skill, power and creativity.
Bagua Zhang's movements are often characterized as "inwardly holding stillness, yet outwardly coiling like a dragon". Over hundreds of years many practitioners not only experienced martial prowess, but also discovered wonderful healing benefits from this art.
Tai -chi Qigong is a low impact form of moving meditation & exercise that can be used for rehabilitation, reintegration, and maintenance of health conditions as well as support general wellness.
The basic 13 movements are fluid, easy to learn movements linked together in a "form". The form is practiced slowly to relax your bodymind, cultivate balance & focus. It can be done in 10-20 minutes and can be practiced in a small space. After learning the form, the student moves into learning the rest of the curriculum which refines, gives martial application, & opens other aspects of the internal training.
Meditation is a tool to help you feel yourself from the inside out using awareness, breath and sensation. This slight turn inwards helps to balance stimuli coming in, especially in this faster paced world. Meditation offers a way to connect with our internal environment, our energy and our feelings.
A centuries old tradition offers a great place to begin to develop your personal practice toward vitality and resiliency.
With practice, stress transforms into useable energy positively supporting all aspects of your health and well-being.
