Aaron is state licensed in Ohio and New York to practice acupuncture and its affiliated disciplines of Tuina, patent herbs, guasha, cupping, moxabustion and five element nutrition. He is additionally certified to teach Chi Nei Tsang, chi gong, meditation and Bagua Zhang.
Aaron received a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture doing rotations in Acupuncture Physical Medicine, Japanese Acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (2009). He additionally earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wright State University (1999) and an Associates of Science in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute of College of Health Sciences (2004).
Aaron began his initial journey into professional acupuncture practice learning and treating at Tom Bisio's, 5th Street acupuncture clinic in Manhattan's East Village. For over 5 years he was immersed in Chinese hit/fall medicine focusing on developing his "zheng gu" and Tunia techniques. Eventually, he moved to 5th Ave where the Breathing Tree partnered with Internal Arts, LLC to own a multi-room acupuncture clinic until 2020.
Aaron was a full-time massage therapist at Google NYC for 17 years. During this time, he refined his hands-on skills treating over 15,000 clients with Tuina, Shiatsu and Chi Nei Tsang (visceral manipulation). He additionally launched and guided internal health and wellness initiatives as a program manager with teams in Japan, China, Europe, and the United States.
Aaron was a professor of Shiatsu at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences as well as a professor of Tuina at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NYC). He has studied Zero Balancing, Craniosacral therapy, Sotai and trained in a multi year Medical Qigong program with Dr. Lisa Van Ostrand of the International Institute of Medical Qigong,
Since 1998, Aaron has practiced Yang Tai Chi Chuan. He's studied under Master Derrick Trent, Sifu Matt McCormick and Sifu H. Won Gim. In 2000 he spent two years with Hal Lehrman learning Aikido and in 2003 he began training in Liang Style Bagua Zhang at New York Internal Arts. In 2008, after training with Tom, Val and Laoshi Gao Ji Wu in Beijing , Tom designated Aaron a Bagua Zhang senior instructor with Internal Arts International.
Aaron's dive into eastern spiritual practices began in Vipassanna meditation with S.N. Goenka in 2001 and Daoist meditation training in 2012. He completed a 5 year apprenticeship under Universal Healing Tao senior teacher and Daoist Minister, Karin Sorvik. She certified him as a Universal Healing Tao (UHT) Associate Instructor and Chi Nei Tsang 2 Teacher. In 2019, Grandmaster Mantak Chia granted his certification as a Full Instructor teaching Tao Basics, Healing Love, Iron Shirt Chi Kung and Dantien Chi Kung.
Aaron currently has a private acupuncture and integrative health practice in Boardman OH. He spends his additional time loving his children and family, organic gardening, writing music and teaching classes on Taoist internal alchemy.
Gayla is state licensed acupuncturist and NCCAOM Diplomate. She is licensed to practice acupuncture and its affiliated medical disciplines of tuina, patent herbal formulas, guasha, cupping, chi gong, moxabustion, Chi Nei Tsang, medicinal mushroom tonics, essential oils and five element nutrition.
Gayla has received her Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture emphasizing Acupuncture Physical Medicine, Japanese Acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, her B.F.A in Dance from Ohio University, and Yoga certification from Om Yoga.
Gayla has training in the Tao of Nutrition. She has taken many courses and foundational training of food combining/cooking and preparing with the Natural Gourmet Cooking Institute. Gayla has additional training and experience in Craniosacral Therapy with Michael Shea, Ph.D, as well as training with the Upledger Institute. Gayla is also certified to practice Chi Nei Tsang by Universal Healing Tao Senior Teacher/Council Member, Karin Sorvik.
After an international professional career as a modern dancer with some of the most influential choreographers, Gayla turned her head towards the arts within movement medicine. For over 13 years she has worked as an instructor and within curriculum development within the Garrison Institute. She has also taught and consulted internationally with the them, bringing Taoist yoga, qigong and mindful breath-centered movement to survivors of trauma.
For 3 years Gayla was an acupuncturist within the Integrative Oncology Department at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She saw patients for in and out patient care within pediatric and adult oncology. As a clinician, she has been professionally published and has taken part in patient care clinical trials using acupuncture, massage, and essential oils at one of the foremost international hospitals in the U.S..
Besides her private practice in whole health care and cancer support, Gayla has also worked as an acupuncturist in the New York's City University college system at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) student health clinic. She has treated a wide variety of concerns in an international, multi-ethnic student population.
Gayla currently has a private acupuncture practice in Boardman, OH and a public acupuncture practice in Cleveland OH at University Hospital. Her additional time is devoted to parenting, family, organic gardening and supporting local health and wellness communities.
Becky is an Ohio state licensed massage therapist. She has been in private practice for over 25 years. Not only does she offer professional massage therapy services, but being a certified Reiki Master, she is also available for sessions to balance deep energy centers using a gentler touch.

The Breathing Tree was born in 2004 in New York City. Aaron had just completed his Associates of Science in massage therapy and Gayla finished her initial certification as a Yoga instructor. Then, in 2009 Aaron earned his Masters of Science in Acupuncture, opening his doors in Manhattan's East Village and eventually on 5th Ave in Midtown. In 2016, Gayla earned her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and began working at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital followed by the City University of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. Eventually, in 2020 the Stiles family decided to move closer to family and back to their place birth, Ohio. The Breathing Tree is now open in Boardman Ohio bringing many years of experience in holistic medicine and integrative health. We are proud to serve the Mahoning Valley!
